Where It All Started

I’ve always been a crafty person. I’ve delved into needlecrafts, knitting, scrapbooking, and just about any other craft that didn’t require a sewing machine. But a lot of those things are very tedious and time consuming and in the end are not very functional. (Let’s be honest, I say I can knit but my skills don’t go beyond the basic scarf and hat.) So I started thinking…What could I make that was be useful, quick (sometimes) and easy to learn? I searched the Internet and it didn’t take me long to decide that quilting was the answer. When they hear the word quilting, most people think of an old granny sitting in her rocking chair and hand stitching a quilt. Well I discovered that it was so much more than that. There are multitudes of vibrant, contemporary fabrics and patterns out there as well as blogs and websites like Etsy to inspire and encourage.
